okyeame kwame

Okyeame Kwame who recently said he was planning to change his name has rescind his decision.

The musician at F14 concert told Hitz FM that foreigners find it difficult pronouncing his first stage name ‘Okyeame’.

BRA Kwame in a chat with Christian Agyei Frimpong on Onua FM in Accra said many opinion leaders have called to complain about his decision to change name after reports of his plan to get a new stage name.

“I HAD A LOT OF CALLS AND MESSAGES WHEN THE NEWS BROKE. SOME CHIEFS CALLED ME AND REGISTERED THEIR DISPLEASURE. THEY WERE LIKE, ‘HERH OKYEAME KWAME, WHAT ARE WE HEARING? YOU WANT TO CHANGE YOUR NAME? STOP THAT CHILDISH MOVE’,”

Okyeame Kwame ended that he “would rather go bald” than to change his name.

Afia Schwarzenegger Attacks Delay – Makes Damning Allegations

Afia Schwarzenegger and Delay5

Afia Schwarzenegger has put out an attacking statement on social media which seems to be directed to her rival, radio/television presenter, Delay.

In the statement on social media, Afia Schwarzenegger touched on how some presenters have allegedly turned into p*********s, hopping from one table to the other at hotels seeking to make babies with white men, because they envy her “cute” male twins.

She added that white sperms are not as cheap as tomatoes paste or expired mackerel. At this point, it is quite obvious that Afia is addressing this statement to Delay, because the latter is the only radio and TV personality who is into production of tomatoes paste and mackerel.

Apparently, anyone who knows who Delay can simply tell that this coded and abusive statement from Afia is directed to her.

Afia Schwarzenegger and Delay used to be best of friends until they had a misunderstanding concerning the Afia Schwarzenegger TV show a few years ago. Since then, the two have been throwing jabs at each other on social media and in radio/TV interviews.

Below is the statement Afia Schwarzenegger posted on her Instagram timeline:

“And becos of these boys…Some presenters have turned into a****o…always hopping from table to table at African Regent Hotel looking for who to give them sperms…hun white sperms are not tomatoes paste or expired mackerel that u can find on any Borla…

“And oh least I forget White men are attracted to good black skin not the one you have that u can’t wear bare backs…I can book n pay surgery to support you..”

“I know your hustle And please I don’t ever want to hear that u took a picture by my X6 again….its not yours neither is it for Agyeman Badu, oh or you wanted to claim it for Hans Adu Sapei !!!The hotel security told me and I was waiting for u to post that picture…Ofui Chaiiii I thank God for turning me and my children into prayer points….”

Never Compare Sarkodie To Me, He Is A Baby – Tinny

tinny-best-rapper-in-ghana

For the numerous music lovers in the country and across the continent of Africa, Ghana’s fastest rapper and 2012 BET award winner, Sarkodie, is the best rapper in Ghana and it should take little for one to accept that for a fact after listening or seeing him perform.

Sarkodie’s colleague rapper, Nii Addo Quaynor popularly known as Tinny however cautions that Ghanaians should monitor the Tema based rapper for at least a decade before passing judgement on him as being the best in the country.

Speaking to Flexy on e.tv Ghana’s entertainment review programme, Talk Showbiz, Tinny mentioned that though Sarkodie is doing marvelously well in the music industry, he is still young.

“When Sarkodie ‘chop’ ten years, then we see,” he said in pidgin English.

“He is a baby but he is doing well. Yeah. He is taking Ghana to some level but I can’t rate him with myself just like Jay Z and Lil Wayne. There is no way you can compare the two. Never,” he continued when asked to compare his performance to that of Sarkodie in recent times.

“I wouldn’t have to compare myself to Sarkodie. He does Twi, I am Ga, you know. Like a defender and a striker, they are two different positions.

Tinny who is currently working on his fifth studio album revealed that his father is no longer his manager as his record label, Kankpe Records is currently under his management.

On Glo’s endorsement

In recent times, fans of the hip-life artiste have hardly seen him perform at any of the major music events and according to him, his endorsement of Globacom is the basis.

“In some way it has (affected me) because people always say, ‘we don’t see you on stage as before.

“Though you don’t see me on stage, you still hear my songs on the air. You might not be seeing me on stage but you can still get my video on youtube and watch it.”

He promised to be bigger in the new year stating that “2013 is action year. It is the regular champion year. It has been quite some time now but the people should watch out for new Tinny all together.”

I Am Not A Ghanaian Actor – Majid Michel

Majid-Michelle-

Ghanaian movie star Majid Michel has stated that he is not a Ghanaian actor but rather he is an actor from Ghana.

Majid made this statement which sounds controversial to some people at the press launch of Kofas Media’s new movie project “Amakye & Dede”.

During the Q & A section of the conference Majid Michel was asked if there is a funny bone in him and if there is how he can make viewers of “Amakye & Dede” laugh when it’s finally out.

This question came forth because Majid has not been casted for a lot of comic movies.

In respond to the question, Majid said that he believes acting as an art is universal and every actor has a challenge that he wants conquer

“Well I am an actor and I believe acting is an act and art is universal… I am not a Ghanaian actor; I am an actor from Ghana. So I was there as an actor and this director said he wants me for a film and I said what is it about and he said this is it.”

Majid also revealed that, being in a movie with Kalybos will be a challenge to him as an actor.

“Every actor has his challenge in front of him every time that what is next to challenge me, what is next to say this will be a challenge and he wants to take it on to prove to himself that ‘errm’ I have conquered the next challenge.”

“ Well you have to usually stick to what you are strong at, unless you are daring to go otherwise and then if you fail you come back to say that ok this is not for me. Being in a movie with Kalybos will be challenging and i can only see my success after the film so if it fails i will stay off it but now let’s see what happens.”

Majid Michel has starred in a lot of local and foreign movies and is currently part of the cast for Amakye & Dede.

Here’s Why Delay Can’t “Speak English”

delay

Radio, television personality and entrepreneur, Deloris Frimpong Manso a.k.a Delay is known for her fluency in the local dialect, Akan/twi.

This often projects her as someone who has difficulty in speaking the queens’ language but the outspoken woman says that notion is misplaced.

According to her, she sees no sense in parading herself as an “English woman” when she has bills to pay.

“I don’t speak English or use English because, it does not bring money into my pocket. English does nothing for me.

“It is not that I did not study it, I did but it’s just a personal choice not to use it or speak it,” she said while interviewing web skit breakout star Kalybos in an episode of her Delay Show.

The Delay Show has hosted almost all of Ghana’s biggest celebrities.

Wisa’s Lawyer Dumps Him In Court

Wisa-Greid

Counsel for embattled Hiplife Musician Eugene Ashie, a.k.a Wisa Greid of ‘Ekiki Me’ fame, Jerry Agbenovor has abandoned his client at the premises of an Accra Court claiming the latter and his manager failed to properly negotiate the terms for his services.

Wisa is standing trial at an Accra Circuit Court 5 for showing off his genitals to a live audience in ecstasy on Christmas Eve last year and was due for court today Monday January 25, 2015.

At the time of going to press, the case was yet to be called in one of the country’s busiest courts but without any legal representation.

Speaking on the Ultimate Brunch Show Hosted by Naa Klordey Odonkor, Starr Fm’s Accra Court Correspondent Wilberforce Asare disclosed that Lawyer Jerry Agbenovor was in court but said he was not there as legal representation of Wisa.

He maintained that the musician and his manager had failed to properly negotiate the terms and conditions of his services and also remained tight-lipped over the exact amount to be paid to him as legal fees for his services.

Manager of the Musician has however promised to resolve the problem to ensure that the Musician is properly represented in court during the next adjournment date.

Jerry Agbenovor it would be recalled in defence for his client said he only showed a dildo and not his genitals during a live performance at the Accra International Conference Center.

The stance of his lawyer however contradicts that of the musician who openly apologized for his conduct stating;“I cannot explain this rash and irresponsible behaviour, but I have been trained to acknowledge my fault and be responsible for my actions. That is why I want to accept every bit of criticism that has come my way in the ensuing hours”.

Here is the words of a man accused of being a gay:

“I love and like women and it is never true that I am gay,” Kalybos said when questioned why his bodylanguage is that of a woman.

He added: “The thing is, my role model when it comes to movies is Johnny Depp of Pirates of the Caribbean fame and he acts like a drunkard.

“So as someone I look up to, I just picked some of his traits and made it mine by adding something funny and feminine which has eventually become my style,” he said.

He is a Greedy guy – Pope Skinny

pope skinny

Ghanaian rapper who is currently the road manager for Shatta Wale, Pope Skinny has detailed what brought about his ‘beef’ with rapper Guru.

The Akuapem rapper in his recent interview on Hitz FM explaining his ten months old Facebook post which claimed that Guru was stealing songs and making hits out of them revealed that the “Lapaz Toyota” hitmaker is greedy.

I don’t have any problems with Guru. Pope said on Hitz FM. “We were good friends until I realized that he was a greedy guy. I also realized that left to him, he will be the only one eating. He wasn’t my close friend. Guru is my son. I started music in 2002, Guru just started music. Guru calls me father. When I was in JSS 2, I had a hit record with Buk Bak. That was in 2003, Guru had not written his first rap yet.

“Now, I’m not cool with him but after the issue we haven’t met, if we meet because we are boys, we will put things aside and exchange pleasantries but we haven’t met yet. I have met his management and they explained the reason why he did what he did but I got to realize from the explanation that Guru wasn’t real.”

Shatta Wale Being Honest Or Getting To BET With VGMA?

shatta-wale-influential-artiste-500x330

Shata Wale recently filed entry for nominations for the upcoming 2016 VGMA’s which has sent the entire music industry into a tumult over whether he deserves to be part of the annual prestigious accolade. Many have taken to social media to express their obtuse opinion on the matter.

For Shata Wale to make a complete overturn after referring the VGMA’s as a “season for hungry artists” is mind-boggling even for the self-acclaimed Dancehall King.

WHAT HAPPENED?

Shata Wale is undoubtedly enjoying a streak of unlimited air-play of his songs. His hit single Kakai is admonished and virtually played everywhere.

The numbers speak for itself; from the offices to political talks to fun-fairs and even on the street, the term kakai has become a symbol of regular discussions. After partying ways with former manager Bulldog, Shata Wale seems to have re-invented himself; his recent performance at the CAF awards serves as reference for his new-found aligned demeanor.

Shata Wale is now corporate, has a new team and is beginning to sound professional in his dealings especially with the media. He was not part of the 2015 VGMA’s due to his public feud with Charter House which rattled on to court and is yet to be settled.

The board in charge of VGMA nominations is tasked with a difficult decision as to where to place Shata Wale after his entry. Of course a lot of factors must be considered in making these decisions regardless the public opinion on the subject matter. Shata Wale’s incessant attacks on Charter House were foolish, irresponsible and mindlessly offensive expressions of privilege.

But there’s a risk that can cause anger to escalate and it’s nobody’s place to decide who is to get angry. In all cases, the issue at hand is extremely sensitive to a cause, relating to defamatory harm inflicted on brands and groups of people. Already, a brigade of Shata Wale fans has aligned a distortion on main sponsors Vodafone threatening to offload their services should the board refuse to grant Shata Wale entry.

Choosing such a pattern to enforce the organizers in their decision or judgment is like Hitler passing judgment on how World War 2 should have been avoided- it is insensitive and not going to help Shata Wale’s course. It is inevitable that Charter House accord Shata Wale a chance to the VGMA’s but it must be prerogative and come with alternatives. There must be a line between public opinions, constructive criticisms and character judgement.

Shata Wale must render an official apology to Charter House. If possible, he should be fined with a subtle amount of money to serve as deterrent in a way to avoid this kind of comfortable bubble enjoyed by musicians. They have a responsibility to consider who their words might hurt, and their community to deal with that hurt in a way that will minimize it in the future.

Shata Wale cannot afford to miss out on the VGMA’s in a year that promises to be his redemption and an opportunity to resolve his personality disdains. Shata Wale needs VGMA’s to cement a place for a stellar year and many have already stalked his chances of winning the ultimate- artist of the year.

COULD IT ALSO BE A RIDE-ON TO BET AND MTV?

Shata Wale’s fued with Charter House took another turn when he missed out in the 2015 BET Awards. A fan famously penned a scathing letter making accusations towards Charter House insisting their alterations had something to do with their Dancehall king not earning a nomination in the BET best African act category.

Former manager Bulldog added more fuel to fire by lashing out critics and urging fans to forget about BET. In a statement on his Facebook page, he added “……… BET awards are not for Africans. #simplyput”. It didn’t end there, Africa’s own MTV awards was among the unnecessary indulgence tagged with Shata Wale.

Immediately after the awards, he tweeted a redundant post directed at Stonebwoy who made the nominations for best new artist but lost out to Patoranking. “Some Ghanaians are too popular in America not Africa lol” was the subliminal jibe he threw at the BET award winner. Some of these statement could possibly come back to hunt Shata Wale who used to say “me no need no award”.

Perhaps the best decision he made was splitting ways with Bulldog who seemed to be inciting the 2014 VGMA artist of the year. The BET and MTV award regardless it’s controversies adds a unique ingredient to the brand of artist. Artists get to hop on several dealings in the industry and also attract lucrative contract from other corporate brands. 2016 could be a year of redemption or repulse for Shata Wale but let’s hope the former outwit the latter.

Change happens, deal with it – Peace Hyde

peace hyde.

Hello and welcome to a Piece of Peace, your weekly dose of motivation and inspiration. This week I would like to share with you on the topic, “Change Happens, Deal with it.”

One of the biggest things to deal with is change. We are all creatures of habit and sometimes a change in your personal circumstances can be one of the most unsettling things that can happen to us. Coping with change can also be stressful.

It comes with new considerations and responsibilities. One of my friends who relocated from the UK about a year ago decided he had had enough of Africa.

He came to Ghana with a business plan and $20,000. His plan was to build a portable restaurant using a converted bus. Things initially looked promising and he managed to efficiently invest his money in setting up the business.

Now all that was left was for the customers to come to him. 5 months went by and the customers never came. Coupled with this, my friend realized how complicated things were in Africa. The new change of lifestyle began to weigh heavily on him. He started to miss the creature comforts of the UK. Simple things like having constant electricity and regular water supply.

He relocated back 6 months ago. He sold the mobile restaurant to another friend who bought it for half the price. The new owner decided to reduce the offering of the restaurant, slash the prices and relocate to places where office workers congregated during lunch. He also added a new service, a mobile car wash whiles you eat.

Business has started to pick up so much that he has made enough money to invest in another van for his mobile food business. You see the difference between him and my friend was how they both dealt with a new change in their lives.

For my friend who gave up on his dream, the new business terrain with the wider challenges in the economy made the new change unbearable. In contrast, the other friend accepted the change and adapted his predecessor’s methods to ensure that he achieved the results he wanted.

Sometimes our inability to cope with change can let us miss out on some amazing opportunities in life. As much as we may not like change, it is the only constant thing in life. Nothing will ever remain the same forever and it is important to live your life planning for how you are going to deal with the next big change in your life.

Try not to allow the fear of the unknown to control you. One of the biggest issues people have with change is the fact that, there is an element of the unknown and as a result if we cannot understand in a lot of detail how that change will affect us we become apprehensive. It is important to embrace whatever changes God has in store for you.

For some of us it can be as simple as changing your diet or choosing to be a better father. No matter whatchanges you need to make, learn to commit to those decisions and work diligently towards your goals without giving in to the pressures around you. And no matter what you do, always remember, be yourself because everyone else is taken.

Much love,

Peace Hyde.
