Over the week, the 15 year old Ghanaian actor, Abraham Attah was awarded Best Male Lead for his portrayal of the child soldier Agu in Beasts Of No Nation–his first acting gig ever.
This got many Ghanaians talking to the extent that, some well known presenters and actors in the country were attacked for mocking his speech on stage.
The Oscar award seems to be one of the well known achievement so far for the young actor but many do not know that he had already bagged several awards and nominations prior to this for his role as Agu in the movie Beasts Of No Nation.
So what are the other awards he’s won so far, here is a list of other awards the young actor has bagged after featuring in the movie.
1. Venice International Film Festival Marcello Mastroianni Best Young Actor Award
He won the award for the Best Young Actor Award on the Vernice International Film Festival for the same role.

2. National Board of Review Award for Best Breakthrough Performance
He also won the Best Breakthrough Performance at the National Board of Review Award.
3. Independent Spirit Award for Best Male Lead
He was recently awarded for the Independent Spirit Award for Best Male Lead
4. Ghana Movie Awards Best Actor in a Leading Role
He also won the Best Actor in a Leading Role at the recently held Ghana Movie Awards.
5. Black Film Critics Circle Rising Star Award
At the Black Film Critics Circle, he won the Rising Star Award.
