Shirley Frimpong-Manso wins Best Picture Editor - AMVCA 2016

Ghanaian filmmaker, Shirley Frimpong-Manso has won the Africa Magic Viewers’ Choice Awards – AMVCA 2016 Best Picture Editor with her movie, ‘Rebecca’.


The event which was filled with glamour from the red carpet to the live production of the show was held at the Eko Convention Centre, Victoria Island, Lagos. The one-hour show was hosted by IK Osakioduwa and Minenhle Dlamini.


Last year, Yvonne Okoro’s ‘Contract’ won the category.

Best Picture Editor – Shirley Frimpong-Manso for “Rebecca”


Best Costume Design – Uche Nancy for “Dry”


Best Local Language (Swahili) – Single Mtambalike for “Kitendawali”



Best Local Language (Hausa) – Salisu Balarabe for “Dadin Kowa”


Best Local Language (Yoruba) – Abiodun Jomoh & Jumoke Odetola for “Binta Ofege”


Best Local Language (Igbo) – Paul Igwe for “Usekwu Igbo”


Best Documentary – Remi Vaughan Richards for “Faaji Agba”


Best Supporting Actor – Sambassa Nseribe for “A Soldier’s Story”


Best Supporting Actress – Tunbosun Aiyedehin “Before 30”
