DCOP Kofi Boakye Fires Bishop Obinim

DCOP Kofi Boakye, the Ashanti Regional police commander has rubbished claims by Bishop Obinim that he approached him to be his spiritual father.

Bishop Obinim in an abusive video against the leader and founder of the Royal House Chapel, Rev Sam Korankye Ankrah alleged that he has prominent people visiting and contacting him for prayers and spiritual protection. He named DCOP Kofi Boakye as one of such people.

According to Obinim, DCOP Kofi Boakye approached him and asked for prayers and protection. He further indicated that Kofi Boakye asked him to be his spiritual father.

However, it turns out that Obinim was just ranting as the Ashanti Regional police commander in an interview with GhanaWeb has indicated that he’s never stepped foot inside Obinim’s church before.

DCOP Kofi Boakye stated that he is a practicing Jehovah’s Witness and has no such plans of abandoning his faith to follow Obinim.

“BISHOP OBINIM IS PEDDLING FALSEHOOD. I HAVE NEVER BEEN TO HIS CHURCH BEFORE, SO HE SHOULD STOP DECEIVING PEOPLE AND MIND HIS BUSINESS,” DCOP KOFI BOAKYE.

The police chief explained that he’s met Obinim only once and that was during the opening of the Kenyasi Police District when he personally invited some pastors and opinion leaders at that time to his office for dialogue.

“IT WAS DURING THESE INDIVIDUAL MEETINGS I HELD WITH THEM THAT I FIRST MET OBINIM, SO FOR HIM TO RUN HIS MOUTH AND TELL THE WORLD THAT I PERSONALLY BEGGED HIM TO PRAY FOR ME IS A PALPABLE UNTRUTH.

I WANT TO STATE CATEGORICALLY THAT I DON’T HAVE A SPIRITUAL FATHER AND I DON’T NEED ONE, AND I HAVE NEVER BEEN TO OBINIM’S CHURCH BEFORE,” HE STATED.
