South Africa’s biggest music awards, The Metro FM Awards was held on Saturday night at the Albert Luthuli International Conventions Centre Complex (Durban ICC) in Durban, Kwa-Zulu Natal. The award show hosted by Bonang Matheba saw the finest of musical acts rewarded and duly recognized.
One of the award recipients was our very own 24-year-old Nigerian reggae-dancehall singer and songwriter, Burna Boy who went home with three awards.
He won the Pan-African category which was just introduced this year and focused on celebrating African musical excellence by honouring musicians from across the continent that made it onto the Metro FM playlist hence contributing to the station’s music offering.https://www.instagram.com/p/BCTcFCWPO86/
He also won Best Hit Single and Best Collaboration for Baddest by AKA which he featured in alongside Khuli Chana and Yanga.
